Studio album. New version (pictured below left) with all tracks listed above
(TDI Music, reference no. TDI CD010) released in 1998, both as an individual
album, or in the 'Dream Dice' Box Set. * There's
an interesting story behind this track: when the Tangerine Dream Official
Web Site first went on line in 1996, the band announced a competition where
the first prize was the one and only copy of this track at the time, as
well as a trip to Easter Island. The first 12 people to reply via the internet
received a 1 minute extract of this track on a CD-R (extract no. 4 pictured
below right, thanks to Klaus Beschorner for this image) through the post.
To win the first prize, all 12 people had to contact each other and mutually
arrange to join together all their extracts on a cassette, in order, to
form the complete track. Then they had to decide which one of them would
go to Easter Island, and finally send the cassette to the band. The lucky
winner received the CD with this track on it, but it had been damaged in
the post! This is probably why the track was eventually released worldwide. ** Originally released on CD in 1992 to Fan Club members only, containing this track only. *** Extract from the fifth movement out of of a total of seven from the 'Tibetan Cycle'; all seven movements can be found on 'The Seven Letters from Tibet'. |
